MEET THE 4A EXECUTIVE TEAM

Asia is a proud Filipina-American originally born in New Orleans, Louisiana, raised in the valley of the sun since 2005. She is a cum laude graduate from Arizona State University with a BA in Communications & Media Studies. At the age of 4, she began dancing and is a former competitive dancer that represented on team USA with her hiphop mega-crew dance team in San Diego, CA for a few years competing throughout her dance career at competitions such as World of Dance LA, Southern CA‘s Best Dance Crew (1st) & Hip Hop International 2012.

Since 2013, Asia has been actively serving in the Arizona Asian community through her humanitarian work with Lions Club International, Hosting, performing arts and leadership. She is also a former beauty queen & continuous advocate with many national/International titles under her belt such as: Miss Earth Arizona 2015, Miss AZ United Continents 2016, Miss USA Fil-Am 2018, Miss Philippines Petite 2019. 

Asia is the current & youngest President since 1988 of the longest standing Asian American nonprofit where she is passionate in protecting, preserving & celebrating various Asian cultures through fashion/beauty, community collaborations & the performing arts where tradition meets modern.

Karla was born in California, raised in the Philippines, and has called Arizona home since 2011. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a clinical emphasis from Assumption College, completed an Education Certificate Program, and pursued graduate studies in Human Development Psychology at De La Salle University–Manila. She is a devoted wife and proud mother of two bilingual children.

A lifelong community leader, Karla began her public service at age 15, leading youth initiatives in her hometown. She is the founder of One Heart Corks by Karla, a sustainable handmade jewelry brand that supports environmental conservation and literacy programs for underserved schools and libraries. She also serves as Managing Member of KMVSA Commission and has more than a decade of experience as a Certified Public Bookkeeper.

Karla is committed to service, sustainability, and empowering diverse communities. Her affiliations include Phoenix Lions Without Borders, 1% for the Planet, and the Kids Need to Read Foundation.

Dr. Yen was born and raised in Taiwan, where she began her career as a hospital pharmacist before moving to the United States to pursue advanced education. She earned both her undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Hawaii, where she developed a deep appreciation for cultural diversity.

Today, Dr. Yen serves as a pharmacist with Walmart Inc., providing community pharmacy care and mentoring pharmacy students. She is also President of the Taiwanese American Association of Arizona and is passionate about community service and cultural engagement. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, tennis, pickleball, and travel.

Pimm Jintasawang McDermott was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and now calls Arizona home. Proud of her Thai heritage and bicultural background, she brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, design, and business operations to support nonprofits, small businesses, and community organizations.

Her career includes leadership roles with Bates Asia Thailand, 141 Worldwide, Knoodle Advertising, and the Paul Mitchell Group. In 2025, she founded PimmCo WebCreator, a creative consultancy under McDermott Aviation Marketing, providing branding, website development, digital marketing, and business solutions for mission-driven organizations and local businesses.

Passionate about community service, Pimm enjoys organizing cultural events, photography, and travel. She is committed to using her creative and technical expertise to help organizations strengthen their impact and better serve their communities.
